Marketing How do we get rid of excessive inventory?


Determine why the inventory did not sell: Did you make too much? Is it priced too high? Are the coordinates of size and performance outside of the segment circles? Is the MTBF rating too low? Is the age of the product (which is cut in half after a product emerges from R&D repositioning project) inappropriate for the market segment (is it too old or too young?).

Make the correction: R&D the product if the size and/or performance coordinates are outside of the segment, or if the MTBF range is too low. R&D the product if the age is too old. If the price is too high, cut the price on the Marketing screen.
